Our hands-on approach to fencing starts with planning out every project prior to construction so that you can have confidence before, during and after work begins.
A fence can improve your home's curb appeal, provide security, increase your privacy, and offer protection from the elements.
GT Custom Builders offer several solutions in varying heights for your fencing needs:
• Pressure Treated Lumber
• Split Rail
• Post and Rail
• Wood Picket
• Chain Link in Black, Green or Galvanized
• Decorative Metal in Many Styles
If cost is a concern, consider using a mixture of fence types to achieve the look that you want. A wood picket fence would be a great addition to the front of the yard, while connecting it to a more utilitarian chain link fence in the back would keep costs down. GT Custom Builders will consult with you and recommend the right fence material and design based on your environment, security and privacy needs.
If you have a neighborhood association or HOA, make sure you find out what the rules and restrictions may be for fence height, look and materials. Additionally, there may be city municipal codes that need to be addressed. GT Custom Builders will secure the required building permits and have all utility lines located before construction begins.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How can I be assured that you won’t hit an underground utility when you install my fence?
Prior to digging any holes to set fence posts, we always contact NC 811 and have all underground utilities located. This enables us to make necessary adjustments with posts, or hand dig holes if necessary to assure that we do not hit any type of underground utility line.
How can I be assured that you will not install my fence on my neighbor’s property?
We make every attempt to locate property line markers (usually a pipe driven into the ground at the corners of your property) and we will typically install your fence at least 6” off the line. If these markers are not visible, it may be necessary to have a survey done, in order to verify this information. We look at each project individually to best determine how to proceed.
Is there a standard cost per foot for fencing?
We handle the pricing of each fence separately. Ballpark estimates are usually available at big box stores based on linear footage and there is always a considerable mark up on these figures in order to assure that everything is covered. Since we price every fence separately, we can give you and exact quote based on the style of fence you desire, number of gates, material you would like to use, fence height, and any specialty items you would like to add.
Do you do pet containment?
While we understand that most pets are considered members of the family, we can never guarantee that we can totally contain your pet inside a fence that we install. We will do everything possible to help you choose the style of fence and product that will best suit the needs of your pet.
